draklorleah asked: That was a lovely ask/post about materials in kimono ensembles just now- could you perhaps make a rebloggable version of it that I can share? I am a fan myself of little rebellions against kimono school rules, haha~

heytherehydrangea asked: do you have any suggestions about how to check sizing of kimono? i know, of course about the height/length check, which isn't an issue for me because i'm not that much taller than the average Japanese person. i do, however, have a wider circumference, which is an issue with the skirt not overlapping as much as it should... is there any way to get an idea of whether the kimono will fit...

Do you know of any websites I can reference for this? Thanks! A good one is the Immortal Geisha wiki, which lists many seasonal motifs here: ...

Anonymous asked: In response to kimono patterns in English... 'Make your own Japanese Clothes' by John Marshall is a great source book. It has instructions to make a wide variety of traditional Japanese garments, and should be available for order online.
